A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns

Love Among the Ruins by Sir Edward Burne-Jones
I chose he poem "A Red, Red Rose" by Robert Burns because I think it is a really sweet and romantic. I love how Burns really sounds in love with his partner. He really expresses how much he loves this woman. Although, sometimes it is hard to put your feelings in to words i think her portrayed it really well. I also chose this poem because it really caught my attention when I was reading through all of the other poems. I feel that I would be able to recite this poem well because I enjoy it so much. I like how Burns makes his poem almost as a letter. I believe that he could read this to her and the women would be so happy.
I think this poem means that Burns is telling her, he will never stop loving her. He will love her til infinity and he wont stop loving her until the seas dry out, which we all know will never happen. You can tell that Burns and this woman must have a lot of history together for him to love her so much. Maybe they are and with a family or maybe he is trying to win her over by showing her his love for her.
I have a couple different favorite lines in this poem, "And i will luve thee still my dear, till a' the seas gang dry." I am guessing he is Irish which is why some of his words seem shortened, such as a' means "all". He means in this line that he will never stop loving her. In this line "And i will come again, my luve, though it were ten thounsands mile." Burns says that even if they are miles away he will still love her.
I can relate to this poem because it sounds like it could have came out from on of the movies I watch. Like the Titanic! That is one of my all time favorite movies and this poem is like the love between Rose and Jack. They promised each other that they would always love one another and that movie really helped show there love that they had.
I think that one way I can make my poem easy to remember for other people would be by my tone. If I were to pretend  I was Burns and saying it to someone I really loved I think others could relate too. Or I could even say it how I would want someone to say it to me.
I chose this painting to describe my poem because when I see it I think of the man looking at the woman like as if he would never let her go. They are together and holding on to each other and look like they are in love.
